HOLY GHOST STORIES | The Rising (of the Holy Ghost) — Week 1
HOLY GHOST STORIES | The Rising — Week 1
Who is the Holy Spirit—and what does he have to do with your life? Maybe you've heard his name without understanding who he is. Maybe the subject feels unfamiliar or uncomfortable. But what if getting to know him changes how you understand God's presence in your everyday life?
In Week 1 of Holy Ghost Stories, Pastor Ryan introduces the Holy Spirit—the third Person of the Trinity. He isn't a ghost, a force, or a feeling. He is a Person who gives life we cannot manufacture.
In Ezekiel 37:1-14, God leads Ezekiel into a valley of dry bones and asks whether they can live again. As Ezekiel responds, the bones begin coming together. But even after everything is assembled, there is still no life until God gives them breath. Having all the pieces in place isn't the same as being alive.
Then we explore what it means for God's presence to dwell with his people. Under the old covenant, his presence dwelled in the temple. Under the new covenant through Jesus, we become his temple. The Holy Spirit dwells within those who follow Jesus. That changes how we live, how we depend on God, and how we respond when he begins to move.
So make yourself available. Let him interrupt what you've grown comfortable with. Trust him when realignment feels unfamiliar. Maybe the Holy Spirit has been dwelling in us—and we haven't been available.
What might come alive if you opened your life to him?
