We keep saying we want a less divided city. Then we keep choosing smaller worlds — smaller feeds, smaller conversations, smaller rooms full of people who already think like we do.
It feels like peace. Everyone already agrees with you, so you never have to explain yourself or sit with a perspective that makes you uncomfortable. But a huddle isn't community — it's just agreement with good lighting. And the moment that huddle becomes your identity, anyone outside it stops being a person and starts being a threat.
In week two of Hope for the City, Ryan Smart goes back to the night Peter sank on the Sea of Galilee — and shows how pressure didn't create what was inside Peter, it exposed it. Thirty years later, writing to a divided, scattered church, Peter hands them the same hope that once caught him: you were not rescued for being right. You were rescued because grace reached for you.
